This lady was selling marigold chain in Howrah Flower market, the biggest flower market near Howrah. This market is commonly known as “Ful Bazar” as you can get every type of flowers here. This market attracts the rush of buyers mainly during the early morning hours, but the market remains open till late evening.Anyone can get flower at a minimum cost from here as this is a whole seller market of flowers.
This place is one of the must visit location for the foreigners with their cameras in recent days,as you can google about it like “Howrah Flower Market” and you will get lots of pictures as search result and from there you can find that lots of the foreigners have clicked photos here in recent days. This is my first visit to this place and expecting one more visit to have some beautiful shots.Till then have a great time with this colorful portrait.

All you can find in this pic is happiness, freedom, love. The childhood what everybody misses in teenage period of life is for this single thing “Happiness”.This little girl was not playing with her friends, neither she was having some expensive toys in her hands, but that little stick of candy was enough to put the smile on her face, the last rays of the evening was kissing her face like a mother does with lot of affection and love. This pic was taken in a fraction of second as soon as I saw this little girl with a priceless smile as her mother gripped her hand and took her away just after I took the shot(I do feel lucky for having this shot). This girl doesn’t belong from a wealthy family, but that didn’t snatched away the smile from her face.A happy scene like this was more than enough to end a hectic day of photo tour in the streets of Kolkata.
Be happy and spread the word of Happiness in the world like this little girl did.
This photo is taken at Mullick Bazar where different type of car parts are sold and bought, two wheeler or four wheeler whatever the car you are owning, you can modify it by just spending a minimum amount of price. The cars which are accidentally damaged are brought at mullick bazar as a pile for reusing their parts in another car, this bazar or market area is popularly known as the “CHORA BAZAR” of cars in Kolkata as all the illegal buying and selling of cars and car parts are done here. You can easily get in there and have a nice shopping for your car in a cheap rate. This man in the picture was assembling some car parts while I was busy in taking few shots of his work. All the semi circle shaped things you can see in this photo are the parts of car wheel. which are being assembled to make something different with it and then reuse it for another car.
Earlier this month I travelled to Nandagaon from Mathura to shoot the Holi celebrations that this small town is famous for. After the throwing of paint and powder at the Radha temple the Shepherds from neighbouring Barsana gather with shields waiting to be beaten by gopis (shepherdesses) from Nandagaon, who gather in the streets with Lathis (long staffs), quite a scene!
Two little Muslim girl returning from school.Captured near sealdah(Kolkata,West Bengal,India). They are having education still they are not free to smile in front of stranger with a camera, they are not free from all the social bounding which are actually not allowing them to interact with the other parts and surrounding or their lives.Even you can’t approach them to share a few words. This is bad luck when you also belong from Kolkata and even you are not allowed to talk with them who are also belonging from the same.Hope someday they also come out of this boundary of restriction, religion and secularism.
A scene from the brick factory of Haroa, located in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal.Childhood of this little girl is deprived of education, still this little fella was smiling, but when she realized that her reality is being captured, she ran away,as she didn’t wanted to show the reality to the world.People over here(Who do work here as a labor) are scared to say a single sentence about their life here. The so called “Babu’s” have forbidden them to do so.Even I was also not allowed to take pictures here and even was told by those so called Babu’s to no to note down any of the speech delivered by those poor labor. From a 5 year old little girl to a 50 or 60 year old lady is working there. You just can’t stop your voice to raise against all these scenario. From illegal recruitment of labors to illegal use of coals(which are being used without paying taxes with the help of our corrupted govt itself),everything is going wrong here. Diseases caused by the dust particles in Brick Factory
