This sweet girl named Zohab I met near Pretoria Street,Kolkata, was dancing in her mood in an alley of North Kolkata . The time she found me coming with a camera she ran into her house and after so many request she agreed to let me take her picture, but the sad part is after a small conversation with her,her uncle/father (I don’t know) came out and protested as usually the people from this religion do specially in Kolkata. He said to leave that place immediately and even threatened to beat. Feel so silly how they are trying to spread the secularism while being a part of a country like India. Incredible India.
They call it religious, wearing hizab or the cap always, but the religion must be named after humanity , wearing hizab or cap and then taking up the guns or bomb shells doesn’t make them religious,if u living in India then try to respect the country at least where u r born n brought up,don’t ask it to be part of Pakistan,if you wanna join do join without any doubt but don’t dream about parting the Kashmir. It’s a warning from the Indians, don’t ever dream about it.
Story telling moment of a family captured from an unknown alley in the core of North Kolkata. The eye catching moment in this photo IMO is the boy with that mask, but all his siblings creates the happy surroundings around him to make this moment more dramatic. This is my favorite shot taken on the Independence day of India(15th August 2015).This is a very similar scene one can find in the narrow lanes of Kolkata(Rather u may call it Calcutta which is more lusty in my opinion).
A conversation between daughter and father followed by a smile on the day of Eid just before the holy prayer began at Red Road-(Kolkata,India).
Girl who makes money by showing her balancing skills on the rope while walking from one end to another in nude feet. This is a risky road show where the rope stays approx 6 ft above from the ground. This photo was taken at Esplande in Kolkata. At this very moment the girl who is well enough skilled in showing balance just lost her balance in staying steady in that little pot of water and showed her annoyed expression on that which in turn seemed to be very sweet indeed.
He was busy in catching fish while I was busy in catching this moment at Ahiritola Ghat. This was already been a beautiful day gifted by the highly saturated blue sky in Kolkata and this special moment made this more special as this you rarely find in the ghats of Kolkata just because of lack of depth of our Holy River ganges.
